The art practice of Taylor Thompson Youngblood
About
Hi!
While specializing in brand development, I have experience working on everything from digital campaigns and websites to full-scale events and live activations. I like to describe myself as a happy medium between creative and analytical — I’m excited about getting to the root of problems and streamlining processes.
My passion is centered around solving problems and community-building, and my independent projects explore Black identity, agency, and mental health. I am eternally interested in partnering with climate and social justice advocacy organizations and helping good people do good work.
When not creating, I can be found practicing yoga and tai chi, singing karaoke, and deep diving through old books at thrift stores.

Artist Bio
Taylor Thompson Youngblood (b. 1990 Beverly, MA) is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the African diaspora, rituals, and transition through various mediums, including collage, photography, and digital art. As a descendant of educators, artists, and social workers, she views her ancestors as muses. Taylor pulls from their lived experiences and remixes those stories with contemporary layers to challenge existing narratives. Through an Afro-surrealist lens, she is interested in exploring the beauty of life beyond trauma and oppression.
After completing a degree in graphic design and working in the agency world for many years, Taylor rekindled her consistent practice of studio art during 2020. Her creative work has been featured in national advertising campaigns, art journals, and social media collaborations, including the Where Are The Black Designers x Working Not Working initiative.
Artist Statement
I’m drawn to collage as a means of transformation and expansion, and my work is inspired by the stories of the past and the throughlines of culture that connect us all now. I apply a serene and dreamlike energy to my art practice, relying on vivid colors and the beauty of Blackness as a way to create new worlds and patterns of perception.
